Zombie Army VR Reveals Gameplay Details Ahead of May 22 Launch

The undead are rising in VR, and the hunt begins soon. Zombie Army VR, the latest entry in the fan-favorite Sniper Elite spinoff series, is officially launching on May 22 for Meta Quest, SteamVR, Rift, and PlayStation VR2. With just weeks to go, Rebellion has unveiled a fresh gameplay trailer, giving fans a deeper look at what’s coming.

Set before the events of Zombie Army 4, players step into the boots of a Deadhunter — a specially trained soldier tasked with wiping out undead war criminals in the war-torn city of Nuremberg. You can tackle the full campaign solo or join forces with a friend in two-player co-op mode for twice the zombie-slaying fun.

The game brings plenty of VR-specific action to the table. From dual-wielding weapons and brutal melee combat to manually reloading World War II-era firearms like pistols, rifles, and SMGs — Zombie Army VR delivers an immersive, high-stakes combat experience. Players can also find “Weapon Upgrade” kits throughout missions to enhance damage, accuracy, or ammo capacity.

Building on systems seen in Sniper Elite VR and Winter Warrior, each mission in Zombie Army VR features a scoring system, progression tracking, and unique mission challenges — such as completing tasks with specific weapon types.

Rebellion has confirmed full bHaptics support for all platforms, along with ProTubeVR support on Quest and PCVR, ensuring that every shot, slash, and explosion feels satisfyingly physical.

he project earlier this year due to studio layoffs and delays, but the final product is still on track for its May launch.
