Star Trek: Infection VR, an upcoming narrative-driven survival horror title, is slated to launch this December for Quest 3 and PC VR.
Originally unveiled at Gamescom 2025, the game is being developed by Played With Fire (known for Mixture) and published by Broken Mirror Games, a studio under Bloober Team. Although it was first announced with a general 2025 release window, Bloober Team’s latest investor report confirms the global launch date as December 11, 2025.
It remains unclear whether the Quest 3 / 3S and PC VR / Steam editions will go live simultaneously. Broken Mirror Games previously suggested the Steam release would follow “very shortly after” the Quest launch, but no official distinction has yet been made.
This will be the second major Star Trek VR game for home users (after Ubisoft’s Star Trek: Bridge Crew in 2017), but with a darker twist. You’ll play as a Vulcan Starfleet officer on a covert mission aboard the USS Lumen — only to discover the ship has descended into horror as a mysterious infection spreads.
As the infection begins to alter you physically and mentally, new powers arise, but at the cost of your stability. Equipped with a tricorder and phaser, you’ll be faced with the choice of stealth or confrontation. You’ll also find crafting stations and interactive tools scattered throughout the wrecked ship.
