Cybrid Brings Pistol Whip-Inspired VR Rhythm Action to Quest in September

Get ready for a high-energy dose of rhythm-fueled action this September as Cybrid, a VR arcade shooter, officially makes its way to the Meta Quest platform in early access. Developed by Tom Reason and published by Shada Games, Cybrid is a fast-paced, on-rails sci-fi rhythm game that blends pulse-pounding music with slick action mechanics.

A Sci-Fi Rhythm Adventure

Drawing heavy inspiration from games like Pistol Whip, Cybrid places players in the heart of a neon-drenched city overrun by hostile cyborgs. Armed with both pistols and swords, you’ll slash, shoot, dodge, deflect, and jump your way through waves of enemies—timed perfectly to the beat of the soundtrack. The goal? Stay in rhythm, stay alive, and clear each visually stunning level with style.

One of the standout features of Cybrid is its high level of customization. Players can tweak the game’s visuals with different color schemes for levels, weapons, and enemies. Gameplay modifiers such as time acceleration and “error immunity” add even more replayability, letting you tailor the experience to your preferred challenge level.

The Road to Quest

Originally released in early access on Steam back in 2021, Cybrid had a brief pause in development before picking back up in late 2024. Since then, the game has seen several content updates throughout 2025, including the recent Hot Vacation patch that added new levels and a supporter’s pack.

The upcoming Meta Quest release is also launching in early access and will continue to evolve with future updates. While the exact date for a full Version 1.0 release hasn’t been confirmed, the developer has indicated that more content is on the way after the Quest launch.

Mark Your Calendar

Cybrid lands on Meta Quest on September 5, 2025, bringing with it a fresh wave of rhythm-driven chaos for fans of action-packed VR games. Whether you’re slashing through cyborgs or dodging blaster fire to the beat, this is one title rhythm game enthusiasts won’t want to miss.

Stay tuned for more updates as the Quest version gets closer to launch.
