ZIX, an upcoming VR co-op roguelite adventure, is set to launch in early access next month for Meta Quest 3 and PC VR via Steam. Developed by Hidden IO, this action-packed title puts you in the role of an Acolyte — a being that thrives on chaos and instability — as you invade and conquer strange, broken worlds.
In ZIX, you and up to two friends work together to invade three procedurally generated realms. No two playthroughs are the same, ensuring that every session offers fresh challenges and unpredictable paths. Along the way, you’ll collect rare ingredients that can be brewed into new abilities using a magical cauldron in your hub area.
Unlike most VR games, ZIX avoids relying heavily on traditional face button controls. Instead, it embraces an immersive gesture-based combat system. Using triggers, grip buttons, and natural hand movements, you can vault over walls, deflect incoming projectiles, throw bombs, parry melee strikes, and more. This design aims to create a highly physical and engaging VR experience.
Whether you prefer solo runs or teaming up with friends, ZIX supports both single-player and cross-platform co-op. The game also features a variety of challenging bosses that will test your teamwork and mastery of the combat system.
According to the developers, the early access period will focus on refining gameplay balance, adding more world recipes, fixing (or intentionally keeping) quirky bugs, and listening to player feedback. Expect regular updates introducing new ingredients, augments, story content, and more.
