After the early-access launch in May, Final Fury is back with its biggest update yet — the “Tides of Vygor” patch — and it packs a heavy punch. If you felt the game’s launch build was a bit light on moves, you’re in for a treat. The update adds dive kicks, uppercuts and a full set of Vygor-powered special attacks — opening up fresh defensive and combo possibilities for newcomers and veterans alike.
But that’s not all: Tides of Vygor also introduces Ranked Events, a new series of weekend tournaments. Compete for cosmetics, avatar rewards, and bonus prizes for top players. With this, Final Fury is turning into more than just a casual VR arcade fighter — it’s shaping up to be a competitive platform.
As a holiday treat, the update roadmap includes a year-end festival dubbed Festive Fury, a festive-themed showdown to celebrate December. Players can expect themed cosmetics and special game modes during the festival.
To round things off, Final Fury now forms part of the Horizon+ Games Catalog on Meta Quest — a rotating selection of games available to all subscribers. That means if you have an active subscription, you get access to Final Fury at no extra cost.
We tried Final Fury during its early-access launch and found it to be a strong foundation: approachable for new players yet deep enough for fighting-game veterans to enjoy. With this update, the game earns its upgrades — offering more variety, competitive depth, and long-term incentive to play.
