Little Critters: A Whimsical Mixed Reality Action-Strategy Experience Coming to Quest 3

Get ready for some mischievous fun this fall with Little Critters, a new mixed reality action-strategy game designed specifically for the Meta Quest 3 and 3S. Developed by Purple Yonder, the team behind the acclaimed Little Cities, this game takes a fresh spin on the familiar concept of tower defense while bringing it into the real world.

In Little Critters, players fortify their own physical spaces by strategically placing traps to stop an onslaught of mischievous critters. The game combines light-hearted strategy with interactive, hands-on gameplay, offering a playful twist on traditional tower defense mechanics.

According to Purple Yonder, the game was “built from the ground up” for mixed reality, emphasizing tactile interactions and physical comedy. With hand tracking support, players can directly manipulate the game’s environment—grabbing, slapping, squashing, and even throwing enemies as they try to invade. As waves of critters grow tougher, new traps and weapons become available, keeping the gameplay fresh and challenging.

James Howard, co-founder of Purple Yonder, shared that the goal was to create a game that anyone could pick up and enjoy instantly, no matter their prior experience with gaming or mixed reality.

Fans of Little Cities will be pleased to know that Purple Yonder has continued to expand and refine its previous titles, delivering engaging content and imaginative gameplay experiences. With Little Critters, they’re bringing that same creativity and attention to detail to a new, action-packed format.

Set to launch this fall on the Meta Quest platform, Little Critters promises to offer a fun, interactive, and immersive gaming experience that’s perfect for players looking to combine strategy, action, and mixed reality in a single, playful package.
