The beloved classic Syberia is making its much-anticipated leap into virtual reality, and fans finally got a first look. Microids has released the debut trailer for Syberia VR, an immersive reimagining of the iconic point-and-click adventure, designed exclusively for Meta Quest 3 and 3S.
Following the announcement earlier this year, Syberia VR promises to bring the original 2002 experience into a fully realized 3D world. Developed collaboratively by Virtuallyz Gaming and Microids Studio Paris, the VR version includes redesigned puzzles, interactive environments, and rich storytelling — all tailored for virtual reality.

A New Chapter for a Classic Tale
The story follows Kate Walker, a determined American lawyer sent to a secluded village in the French Alps to handle a major company’s sale after the owner’s death. What begins as a routine legal assignment soon transforms into a mysterious journey. Kate’s mission shifts toward finding Hans Voralberg, a brilliant inventor obsessed with discovering the last living mammoths on a mythical island. Accompanied by the unforgettable automaton Oscar, players will explore a narrative filled with wonder, emotion, and intrigue.

Designed from the Ground Up for VR
Unlike simple ports, Syberia VR was developed as a standalone experience — crafted from the ground up for virtual reality. The developers emphasize that it remains true to the spirit of the original game, while introducing a new level of immersion. Players will be able to enjoy the experience in multiple ways, with support for seated, standing, and room-scale gameplay.

Syberia VR is scheduled to launch later this year on the Meta Horizon Store, exclusively for Meta Quest 3 and 3S. For fans of adventure games and newcomers alike, this release marks a fresh way to experience Benoît Sokal’s timeless universe in an entirely new dimension.
