Laser Matrix: A Mixed Reality Puzzle-Action Game Arriving on Quest This Summer

Get ready to dodge lasers and test your reflexes—Laser Matrix is bringing high-energy puzzle-action to the Meta Quest platform this summer. Developed by Norwegian studio Breach, the game blends mixed reality gameplay with a fitness-inspired twist, offering an experience that feels both physically engaging and mentally challenging.

Set in a dynamic arena that adapts to your real-world play space, Laser Matrix tasks players with avoiding hazardous laser beams while hitting glowing buttons to progress. The gameplay takes cues from other mixed reality titles like Laser Dance, but stands out by being compatible not just with the Quest 3 and 3S, but also Quest 2 and Quest Pro.

Laser Matrix offers two core modes:

  • Survival Mode: As you move through each level, laser hazards evolve—from shifting laser walls and time-triggered traps to shrinking safe zones—challenging your timing, movement, and focus with increasing intensity.

  • Time Trials: This mode is all about precision and speed, encouraging players to master their runs and climb the leaderboards by completing arenas as quickly as possible.

The game also includes scaling difficulty levels and optional gameplay modifiers, ensuring both beginners and seasoned players find the right level of challenge.

Breach, the studio behind the game, is no stranger to creative VR experiences. They previously released Kartoffl and Super Boxing Gym in 2022, and more recently launched a prequel demo for their upcoming horror title FYR: The Lost Island.

Whether you’re looking to improve your reaction time, get in a quick workout, or just have fun dodging virtual lasers in your living room, Laser Matrix is shaping up to be a thrilling addition to the growing mixed reality genre on Meta Quest.

Stay tuned—Laser Matrix is set to launch later this summer.
